Communicable Disease Follow-Up
Through the Communicable Disease Follow-up program, Marion County Public Health Department provides disease investigation and follow-up for communicable diseases reported to the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services by local health providers.
The Marion County Health Department has a team that follow up on all reportable diseases. Follow up may or may not include telephone interviews, written CDC forms, referral, lab work, and/or treatment. Contacts to an infectious disease may or may not qualify for lab testing and/or preventative treatment. Persons with questions or concerns may call for information. Some examples for reportable infectious diseases are: tuberculosis, hepatitis, and meningitis.
